The Boerne Church of Christ is a church family of approximately two hundred members that live in and in close proximity to the Texas hill country town of Boerne. Our church has a near sixty five year relationship with the Boerne community, and has existed at its present location eleven years. This location is highly visible being prominently situated at the busy intersection of I-10 and Highway 46.
Our church family is made up of a very balanced mixture of age groups ranging from lots of very young children and babies to elderly, long-time members. Generally, one third of the church is thirty and younger, a third is thirty to sixty and another third is 60 and older. Our junior and senior high school group is 20 to 25, and those coming up in our future—well, they are precious and many.
Our church family is a highly relational group of people that place great value on sharing Christian community through worshipping and serving together, praying together and caring for each other in concrete ways. In a recent survey the congregation’s strengths were assessed as “possessing deep spirituality” and having a “high value on small groups” (Care Groups). We’re at work presently addressing the need for greater empowerment from our leadership, as well as developing more effective structures that will make for better communication and ministry involvement by members.
